From a Christmas Market to a Shared Mission: A Story from the Netherlands

In mid-December 2025, Bergham in the Netherlands came alive with a Christmas Market. It was organized to raise money for the Wish Ambulance Foundation, a charity that grants the last wishes of terminally ill patients. When Robotime Brand Ambassador, Jerry Boswyk, heard about the market, he immediately thought of Robotime and decided to ask them to take part. The answer was a resounding ‘yes’.

The Event

Jerry’s sister-in-law was one of the organizers of the market. When he showed her some of Robotime’s kits, she was excited about them joining the event.

Jerry was delighted that when he reached out to Robotime, they replied on the same day. They donated 20 kits, with all proceeds to go to the charity. The organizers were thrilled and let Jerry have a stand free of charge.

December 20th dawned, the day of the Christmas market, and Jerry excitedly packed up the kits and headed to Bergham. The Christmas atmosphere was evident, with Christmas music playing and the smell of mulled wine filling the air.

However, Jerry was initially disappointed. There were crowds of people at the market, and while many showed interest in the Robotime kits, unfortunately, they didn’t want to buy any. After an hour, Jerry had only sold one kit, despite putting up a sign saying that all proceeds would go to charity.

Jerry had almost given up hope when, suddenly, like magic, someone bought a Robotime kit for her daughter and another woman got one for her husband. This set a trend, and soon others were keen to purchase these miniature worlds. By the end of the evening, Jerry had sold 15 kits and one more the following day. In total, he raised 345 euros for charity. The Wish Ambulance Foundation was delighted. Jerry said,

“I am so happy how this turned out and thankful for the help Robotime gave me to be able to do this.”

Even the kits that were left over weren’t wasted. They were put aside for meetups of the Robotime Community, where everybody attending gets a free kit to assemble.

The event turned out to be more than a fundraiser. It was a place where people discovered Robotime for the first time and where strangers chatted and became friends. It was a reminder that small steps can turn into something much bigger.

Meet Jerry

If you are part of the Robotime community, you will probably know who Jerry is. He takes an active role, welcoming new members, advising on difficult builds, and celebrating with other members when they have completed a build. He is a stable, soothing voice, which is often tinged with humor.

Jerry started his journey with Robotime during a difficult period in his life, finding that assembling miniature worlds kept him calm and gave him strength. He found he was able to focus on something other than his problems, and, as he worked on each build, these worries melted away. As he healed, he felt that he wanted to help others and found that the Robotime community was the ideal place to support others.

The Bergham Christmas market is the perfect example of Jerry’s generosity and commitment to Robotime. He has shown that even small actions can be meaningful.
