Nine years of Rolife. Nine years of tiny worlds, creative projects, first builds, growing collections, and friendships made along the way.
On September 6, 2026, Rolife Community members, brand ambassadors, longtime fans, families, and new friends gathered at American Dream in New Jersey to celebrate our ninth anniversary.
It was an afternoon filled with stories, new product previews, Rolife Community conversations, games, hands-on making, and plenty of familiar usernames finally meeting face to face.
More than anything, it was a chance to celebrate the people who have made Rolife part of their lives over the past nine years.
Here’s a look back at the day.
A Community Comes Together at American Dream
Some guests arrived before check-in even began.
One Rolife Community member had driven six hours to join us — a reminder of just how far people were willing to travel to spend the day together.
At check-in, guests received name tags that included their Reddit usernames. For people who had spent years sharing builds, asking questions, exchanging tips, and encouraging one another online, suddenly seeing those familiar usernames attached to real faces made the Rolife Community feel a little more real.
Before the main program began, guests explored the space, stopped by the photo booth, caught up with other makers, and took their first look at some of the products Rolife has coming next.
And, naturally, there was already plenty to talk about.
A First Look at What Comes Next
One of the first stops for many guests was our upcoming product preview.
Several unreleased creations were displayed around the event space, including:
- Dr. Dig Museum
- Strolling in the Sunshine
- Starry Night Café
- Dream Bread Factory
- Dinosaur Lab Pinball
- The new Super Creator series
But we didn’t just want guests to look.
We wanted to know what they thought.
Everyone received stickers and was invited to place them beside the upcoming creation they were most excited to see.
Soon, hearts began filling the boards.
Strolling in the Sunshine attracted plenty of attention, while Dream Bread Factory, Dinosaur Lab Pinball, the new Super Creator series, and the other previews each found their own fans.
There was no shortage of opinions — and we loved seeing them.
For us, it was also a small reminder that the next chapter of Rolife is something we want to keep creating together with the Rolife Community.
Nine Years, One Build at a Time
The heart of the afternoon was not really about products.
It was about stories.
Every maker has a first build, and every collection starts somewhere. During our brand session, several guests shared how a Rolife project had unexpectedly become part of something much bigger.
Oscar: Connections Around Miniature Worlds
For Oscar, Head of E-commerce & Brand Marketing at Rolife, reflecting on nine years meant thinking about the connections that can grow around miniature worlds.
He remembered one meetup where everyone initially sat quietly working on their own projects. Then somebody needed a piece. Someone else offered to help. A conversation started.
Before long, people who had arrived to build were talking, laughing, and making friends.
Sometimes, creating something small can lead to something much bigger.
Tina: Confidence Through Making
For Rolife brand ambassador Tina, it started with a birthday purchase.
One build became another. Then another.
Eventually, her collection needed shelves of its own — something many Rolife collectors in the room could probably relate to.
But some of her favorite memories came from sharing that experience with others.
Through workshops, Tina has seen people approach a project unsure whether they could finish it, only to surprise themselves once the final piece was in place.
That moment of realizing, “I can actually do this,” became part of what kept her sharing the hobby.
David: From One Book Nook to a Rolife Community
For David, the journey started with a book nook and a question.
Looking for advice brought him to Reddit.
From there, he became more involved in the Rolife Community, began helping other builders, shared his creations on YouTube, and discovered new opportunities through a hobby that had started with a single project.
Along the way, he learned something else: not every build has to be perfect.
Sometimes the important part is simply being willing to try.
Gary: A Carousel and Time to Switch Off
For Gary, it began when a carousel caught his eye in a shop window.
Building one himself took patience.
There were repairs. Fresh starts. Moments when things didn’t go exactly as planned.
But eventually, he could sit back and watch the finished carousel turn.
For Gary, building also became a way to switch off from everything else for a while: TV off, classical music on, and a project in front of him.
No rush. No need to multitask.
Just time to make something.
First Builds and What Comes Next
The conversation continued during our panel session.
Guests and speakers talked about their first Rolife builds, what they had learned along the way, what being part of the Rolife Community meant to them, and what they would love to see Rolife create next.
Some had been building for years.
Others were much newer.
But the stories had a lot in common: curiosity, patience, the satisfaction of finishing something with your own hands, and the unexpected conversations that can happen along the way.
For us, those conversations were one of the most meaningful parts of the anniversary.
Nine years is a brand milestone.
But it is also thousands of individual milestones: someone's first finished miniature, first book nook, first workshop, first customized build, or first time sharing their work with somebody else.
Celebrating Rolife Brand Ambassadors
Our brand ambassadors also had a moment in the spotlight.
During the afternoon, we presented ambassador trophies and gathered everyone together for photos.
It was our chance to say thank you in person to people who not only enjoy Rolife themselves, but also share that creativity with others — through workshops, videos, social media posts, Rolife Community conversations, and countless helpful replies to fellow makers.
Nine Winners, Then Nine More
It wouldn’t be a ninth anniversary without a little “nine” somewhere in the celebration.
So we held two raffle rounds.
The first gave nine guests the chance to take home discontinued Rolife products — another opportunity to find an old favorite that may no longer be easy to get.
Then the season changed.
For the second round, nine more winners received Halloween-themed new arrivals.
That made 18 winners in total.
Congratulations again to everyone whose number was called.
A Preview of Rolife's Next Chapter
Later in the afternoon, it was time to return to the future.
The new book nook Strolling in the Sunshine was introduced to a round of applause, followed by more upcoming creations including the new Super Creator series and Dream Bread Factory.
Guests had already seen some of these products on the voting wall, but getting a closer look brought new details into focus.
The Halloween-themed carousel Phantom Waltz also drew plenty of attention.
Its playful Halloween atmosphere, carousel form, and detailed design gave guests even more to explore up close.
For everyone who had been wondering what might come after Rolife’s first nine years, this was a small preview of what’s ahead.
Nanci Fans Take the Challenge
Rolife builders weren’t the only fans being put to the test.
Nanci fans had their own challenge during a special trivia round.
Guests answered questions about Nanci for the chance to win an autograph from Sadie, Nanci’s designer.
For longtime collectors, it was a chance to put all that Nanci knowledge to good use.
For everyone else, it was a reminder that there is always more to discover.
Ending the Day by Making Together
After an afternoon of listening, talking, voting, and celebrating, there was only one thing left to do:
Make something.
Our New York-themed fridge magnet workshop brought adults, children, families, and Rolife Community members around the same tables.
People built side by side, compared their work, helped one another, and added their own little touches.
Even curious passersby stopped to see what was happening and joined the fun.
It was a fitting way to end the day.
After all, Rolife began with the simple pleasure of creating something with your own hands.
Nine years later, that is still at the center of everything we do.
Nine Years of Rolife Moments
A lot has changed over nine years.
New collections have appeared. New miniature worlds have been imagined. Communities have grown across different platforms and different places.
But the moments we remember most are often surprisingly small.
Helping someone find the piece they need.
Finishing a build you weren’t sure you could complete.
Sharing a photo online.
Recognizing a Reddit username across the room.
Sitting down with your family to make something together.
Or simply turning off the TV, putting on some music, and giving yourself an evening to create.
That is what made our ninth anniversary at American Dream special.
It wasn’t only a celebration of how far Rolife has come.
It was a celebration of everyone who has built alongside us.
Thank You for Building With Us
To everyone who joined us at American Dream: thank you for spending the afternoon with us.
To everyone who has shared a build, left a comment, answered another maker’s question, attended a workshop, collected a favorite series, or simply opened their first Rolife kit at home: thank you, too.
Nine years in, we’re still inspired by the same thing — seeing what people create, hearing the stories behind each build, and watching new connections happen along the way.
And there is still plenty more to build.
Were you at our ninth anniversary celebration? Tell us your favorite moment in the comments. We’d love to hear your version of the day.
