Robotime’s First Barcelona Meetup: Building Miniatures and Community Together

Dec 19,2025 | Rolife Team

On December 24, Robotime successfully hosted its first official offline meetup in Spain, bringing the DIY & Crafting community together in Barcelona for a festive and creative afternoon. The event was hosted by Robotime Brand Ambassador Wendy (@Wenbare) and welcomed 19 builders, along with 4 companions, all eager to experience the joy of building Robotime kits together in person.

Set against a warm, sunny winter afternoon, the Barcelona meetup marked an exciting milestone for the Robotime community in Spain—turning online connections into real-life creativity and shared memories.

A Christmas-Themed Creative Gathering

The festive spirit was immediately felt when participants discovered the Christmas-themed kits prepared for the event. Builders could choose from Santa on a Sleigh, Christmas Candy Stand, and Christmas Town, each perfectly suited to the holiday season. The atmosphere quickly filled with excitement, curiosity, and appreciation as everyone explored their kits and imagined the final results.

Thoughtful Planning Behind the Meetup

Behind the relaxed and joyful atmosphere was careful preparation.

Leading up to the event, Wendy worked closely with Robotime to ensure there were enough kits and tools for everyone attending.

Registration was managed in advance, and on arrival, participants signed in and received numbered vouchers, which helped streamline kit distribution and could be exchanged for a drink during the event.

Each kit was distributed with a cutting mat and official Robotime tools, and every table was equipped with super glue and white glue for convenience.

For kits with lighting features, batteries were prepared on-site so builders could test their lights immediately.

To keep the experience beginner-friendly and stress-free, Wendy introduced the kits and instructions in small groups, ensuring everyone understood the building process before getting started.

For some attendees, this was their first time assembling a Robotime kit, and a little nervousness was natural at the beginning. However, that quickly faded as the building process began.

Questions like:

“How does this piece fit?”

“How do I connect the lights?”

filled the room, creating a lively and interactive atmosphere.

Wendy moved continuously between tables, offering guidance, demonstrating techniques, and sharing small tips. More experienced builders also stepped in to help others, creating a collaborative environment where no one felt left behind.

Over nearly three hours of building, the room transformed into a focused yet cheerful workspace, with kits gradually coming to life.

By the end of the session, several participants had completed their kits on-site, while others happily took theirs home to finish later. A few attendees even shared their creations and meetup experience on social media the same day—an exciting moment that highlighted the genuine enthusiasm of the community.

Wendy ( Who was standing in the middle) is a passionate Robotime creator and educator, known for her patience and ability to guide beginners with clarity and warmth. As a teacher, she regularly introduces crafting into her classroom and has previously led Robotime donation projects for local primary schools.

Her experience working with both children and first-time builders made her an ideal host for Robotime’s first Spain meetup. With support from her husband throughout the event, Wendy ensured that everything ran smoothly, allowing participants to focus on enjoying the creative process.

More Than DIY: A Community Experience

The Barcelona meetup was more than just a building session—it was a space for connection. Participants chatted, exchanged ideas, shared tips, and celebrated each other’s progress. Everyone left with a sense of pride in what they had built and excitement for future projects, with many already planning their next Robotime kit as a Christmas gift.

This first meetup in Spain demonstrated what Robotime’s DIY & Crafting community is all about: slowing down, creating with intention, and connecting through a shared love of craftsmanship.
