Rolife Moments: Transforming Elsa’s Tailoring into My Grandma’s Workshop
Nov 08,2025 | Rolife Team
At Rolife, every creation is both a journey and an adventure. You can build our miniature houses kit according to the instructions, or you can add personal touches to each build and make them special to you. That’s exactly what craft lover Wendy Bautista did when she transformed Elsa’s Tailoring into “Olimpia’s Workshop” — a heartfelt tribute to her grandmother.
“My little tribute to my grandma, Olimpia,” Wendy commented.
Wendy’s Vision

Wendy chose Elsa’s Tailoring to customize because her grandmother loves to sew and crochet.
“In the end, I ended up changing more things than I originally planned and kept others that I liked. You never know what feels right until you see it come to life.”
However, there’s nothing wrong with this. As you work through the assembly process, you may find that some things work better than others.

Wendy decided to keep the earrings and necklace because her grandmother loves to wear jewelry.
“She loves wearing jewelry like a proper, elegant 80-year-old lady,” Wendy said warmly, knowing that her grandmother would appreciate this touch.
However, she changed the vibe of the miniature house. Elsa’s Tailoring is based on a 19th-century French dressmaker’s boutique, known as a couture house. In these boutiques, clothes were handmade and sophisticated.

While keeping some of the elegant touches from Elsa’s Tailoring, Wendy changed the space to feel like her grandmother’s warm Spanish home.
“I adapted Elsa’s Tailoring to include yarn balls everywhere, a hidden crochet hook, bits of fabric, a white sewn blanket, a colorful mini throw, and even a crochet dress.” Wendy explained.
Each element was chosen with love — a nod to her grandmother’s lifelong passion for sewing and crocheting.

She also added personal photos:“My grandma often talks about my grandpa, who passed away 33 years ago, so I thought adding pictures of them together would make her really happy.”
Wendy’s Tips

Wendy also shared some tips for anyone wanting to customize their diy craft kit:
- To make the yarn balls, she rolled up small bits of yarn and glued them with super glue.
- For the photos, she measured the frames, resized them using Canva, printed them, and glued them into place.
“Don’t be afraid to move things around and test what looks best……it’s your space to play with.” She advised.
Final Thoughts
Elsa’s Tailoring is already a beautiful kit on its own, but Wendy’s customized version made it truly one-of-a-kind. She couldn’t wait to give it to her grandmother, hoping it would bring back cherished memories.
“Once I get to see her and give it to her, I’ll take some photos to share,” Wendy said. “I really hope she’ll love it.”
