A Snowy Day of Creativity: Inside Robotime First DIY & Crafting Club Meetup in Indiana, USA
Dec 05,2025 | Rolife Team
On a snowy December afternoon, something warm, meaningful, and unforgettable happened in Indiana. Despite the winter storm that swept across the state, Robotime successfully hosted its first-ever U.S. DIY & Crafting Club Meetup, marking a milestone in our global creative community journey.
The event was organized and led by our passionate Brand Ambassador Tina Kaplan—and what unfolded that day perfectly embodied the heart of the Robotime community: creativity, perseverance, and the joy of making something together.
Why We Hosted This Meetup: Building a Global Creative Community

Robotime’s vision for these meetups is simple but powerful:
bring DIY crafters together—offline, face-to-face—in cities all around the world.
Today, so much creativity happens behind screens. These meetups offer something different: real conversation, shared experiences, hands-on learning, and the warmth of discovering like-minded people in your own community.
Robotime hosts these gatherings quarterly, providing attendees with official DIY kits to assemble on-site. For this Indiana meetup, Tina spent months preparing:
- Finding a welcoming venue
- Gathering additional crafting tools
- Planning the flow of the event
- Coordinating communication
- And proudly picking up the professionally printed posters that announced the date and location
As Tina shared:
“Seeing the posters in print made everything feel real. I felt so proud and excited.”
This was not just a gathering—it was the beginning of something bigger.
The Perfect Venue: North Webster Community Public Library

For the first U.S. meetup, Tina chose the North Webster Community Public Library—a decision that turned out to be absolutely perfect.
The library embraced the event wholeheartedly:
- Promoted it in their newsletter
- Featured it on their official website
- Shared it in the local newspaper
- Prepared the room layout
- And even provided complimentary coffee
The room layout offered each attendee plenty of workspace, while still maintaining a cozy, welcoming atmosphere—the kind of environment creative minds instantly feel at home in.
A Snowy Day, but Warm Hearts: How the Indiana Community Showed Up

Originally, 21 participants registered for the meetup.
Then the snowstorm hit.
Seven participants needed to cancel due to the weather—but the amazing part is this:
Fourteen crafters still braved the snow and arrived on time.
This moment moved Tina deeply.
It showed how committed, excited, and passionate the community is about DIY crafts and miniature building.
Some guests even said this was the highlight of their month.
Event Preparation: Setting the Creative Tone

To inspire attendees, Tina brought several of her previously completed builds and displayed them near the entrance. These pieces sparked conversation and gave newcomers a clear idea of what can be achieved with Robotime kits.
She also prepared name tags—partly to help everyone get to know each other, and partly, as she joked, because:
“I’m terrible at remembering names!”
Small details like these created a warm, personal atmosphere that made participants feel welcomed from the moment they entered.
The Hands-On Experience: Crafting, Connecting, and Creating Memories
Before the crafting began, Tina introduced Robotime’s vision:
- Uniting DIY lovers worldwide
- Celebrating miniature houses, book nooks, wood puzzles, and creative hobbies
- Encouraging skill-sharing and community-building across countries
Once the kits were distributed, the room quickly filled with quiet concentration, soft conversation, and genuine excitement.
Attendees:
- Focused deeply on their builds
- Exchanged tips and crafting ideas
- Helped each other troubleshoot small issues
- Shared personal stories of how they discovered Robotime
- And celebrated each milestone of their project

Although Tina brought her own kit to build, she barely touched it—because she spent most of her time guiding others, answering questions, and sharing in their joy.
As she reflected:
“One of my favorite moments, besides all their smiles, was looking around the room. And seeing everyone learning and having the confidence to create.”
She loved to see them learning new skills and seeing the excitement they had for their hobby. They were all keen to join future meetings. As Tina said,
“The smiles on their faces say it all.”
This was more than a workshop.
It was a community coming to life.
