Building Together in Melbourne: A Warm Look at Robotime’s First Australian Meetups
Dec 26,2025 | Rolife Team
MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - In December 2025, something small but meaningful quietly began in Melbourne.
Robotime hosted its very first offline DIY Crafting Club meetups in Australia, bringing local makers together around one simple idea: building something beautiful, together.
Organized by Tricia, a Robotime enthusiast and brand ambassador, the two workshops took place on December 6 and December 20 at the Sydenham Pharmacy in Sydenham, Victoria. Across both sessions, participants gathered not just to build DIY kits, but to slow down, learn from one another, and enjoy the simple joy of crafting by hand.

Section 1: A Quiet Beginning, Full of Warmth

The first meetup took place on a rainy December morning. Bad weather meant fewer people could attend, but those who made it arrived with curiosity and an open mind.

Tricia, Carmie & Terri
With just two participants, Carmie and Terri, the workshop felt calm and personal. Tricia welcomed them warmly and made sure everything was ready—Robotime DIY kits, work mats, and tools—so even first-time builders could feel at ease.

Carmie & Terri
It was the perfect time of year for Christmas-themed kits. Carmie worked on a cozy Christmas indoor scene, while Terri enjoyed assembling a festive gravity swing. The first few minutes were filled with questions, gentle laughter, and careful hands—but with guidance and encouragement, confidence quickly followed.
To help inspire them, Tricia brought along some of her own completed builds, showing what was possible one step at a time.
Terri later shared her thoughts:
“ I had a great time at the Melbourne workshop. Thank you, Tricia, for hosting us, and thank you, Rolife, for the delightful kit. I had a great time building it.”

It was a small gathering, but one that perfectly captured the spirit of a Robotime meetup: supportive, relaxed, and welcoming.
Section 2: More Voices, More Laughter

Encouraged by the first session, Tricia organized a second meetup to welcome more community members. This time, the weather was bright—and the room felt lighter from the very beginning.
Although there were a few last-minute cancellations, a lovely group of crafters arrived, some building a Robotime kit for the first time, others returning with growing confidence.

As everyone settled in, the room filled with soft conversation and focused energy. Tricia moved from table to table, answering questions, offering tips, and sharing examples of kits she had completed at home. Before long, everyone was absorbed in their builds—helping one another, exchanging smiles, and enjoying the process.

Stephanie’s sakura tree
Not all projects were Christmas-themed. Stephanie, for example, chose the Sakura Tree kit, drawn to its gentle colors and sense of spring. After finishing her first build, she shared:
“Finished my first Robotime kit last night and have it displayed beside my magnolia Nanci.”
She has since continued crafting at home, already working on a magical book nook.

TeaD's christmas town
One particularly joyful moment came when TeaD completed the Christmas Town music box. Thanks to Tricia’s thoughtful preparation—including spare batteries—the room filled with music, and everyone paused to enjoy the moment together.
What These Meetups Meant
Across both sessions, one feeling kept returning: relief.
- Relief that it was okay to take things slowly.
- Relief that asking for help was welcomed.
- Relief that DIY crafting didn’t need to be perfect to be meaningful.
Some participants discovered patience they didn’t know they had. Others found confidence after completing their first build. Seeing finished projects in person made the hobby feel more approachable—and sharing the experience made it even more rewarding.
These meetups gently reminded everyone that DIY is not just about what you build, but how you feel while building it.
Voices from the Community
The feedback about the events was very positive and summed up both meetings perfectly. Many shared their experiences on the Robotime Community Forum. Carmie was pleasantly surprised with her Christmask it, saying that it was cuter than she thought it would be.
Terri said,
“I had a great time at the Melbourne workshop. Thank you, Tricia for hosting and thank you Rolife for the delightful kit. I had a great time building it.”
Terri wasn’t the only person to praise Tricia. SunnyCee complemented Trica for bringing along her own builds for the group to see.
“I think that is a nice visual to help people learn about the hobby.”
Join the Robotime Community
Although these were local gatherings, they, like other Robotime craft meetups, can inspire other members of the Community to host or attend a meeting near them. It is an opportunity to share your crafting knowledge, to learn new things, and to make new friends. It doesn’t matter what your skill level is, you are welcome.
If you’d like to discover meetups near you, share your creations, or simply connect with others who love building, we invite you to join the Robotime online community. Whether it’s your first kit or your tenth, there’s always a place for you at the table.
